Let’s fall in love with the male lead game
There are not many things that happen within these two episodes, except that Ye Xin continues to lie about herself as the rightful daughter of the Ye family. She even hurt herself purposely in order to hide the fact that she doesn’t have a chicken pox scar in a certain spot. That’s all I’ll say about that because I hate watching sections she’s in.
The other things that happened on Jiang Xin’s side (I realized it was Jiang Xin instead of Jiang Xing):
She got a really lovely servant called Chun Hua. Chun Hua is the comedic relief. She’s cute, adorable, and she’s overdramatic. She’s a nice balance to the Bai family’s serious atmosphere.
Anyways Jiang Xin tells Bai Lang that she’s not ready to marry him yet. She made a promise that she’ll marry him once she regains all her memories or if she falls in love with him again. He gets pulled away because of a meeting with a Japanese businessman that Bai Yuan arranged.
Even though it’s a heavily guarded ‘gangster’ place where they’re talking about drugs and there are assassins everywhere, two very untrained girls Jiang Xin and Chun Hua manages to get in because, drama. Either you guys have to step up your game in guarding your meeting place, or Jiang Xin or Chun Hua are master ninjas.
And being the dumbest person there is, she gasps loudly so they find her there… And she has the audacity to be mad at Bai Lang afterwards. You nearly got yourself killed again and again! And every time he has to step out and protect you. Come on. #unimpressed.
Ok I understand her being mad at him because of his involvement with drugs, but she decides to leave the house to prove to him how angry she is. So reckless. Her position is different now, she’s Mrs. Bai now – people could take advantage of her.

Well, sh*t.
Well sh*t. What I did I tell you? She does get captured. And they decide to water board her. Turns out she was wrongly mad at Bai Lang because although he pretended to be involved in drug trafficking with the Japanese, he actually took it as an opportunity to burn all the drugs so that this Japanese businessman couldn’t sell drugs in China. Bai Lang thought that it was important to protect Chinese people against self-harm with drugs, instead of making foreigners money.
Upon finding out that Jiang Xin was captured (even though it was entirely her fault), he recklessly goes there on his own instead of taking his men with him. I mean, these guys all have guns. Shouldn’t you bring backup?
At the the warehouse where Jiang Xin was held captive, Bai Yuan (Bai Lang’s brother) took out all his rage from all these years from him. He hit Bai Lang with iron knuckles without allowing him to fight back, and even forced him to stab his own leg. I mean if maybe you waited for a few moments to plan with your guys it wouldn’t come to this. Luckily Bai Lang’s men were smart enough to throw fire bombs and suddenly rush inside to save both Bai Lang and Jiang Xin.
I mean, he was the one that took several punches too the face, and he was the one with the stabbed leg. Somehow she’s the one that fainted and needs to be carried out by a severely injured man. Just sayin’. It’s cheesy but I thoroughly enjoyed this scene where he was being the hero again. I have fallen so much in love with Bai Lang that I will curse the producers if the female and male lead don’t have a happy ending.

That look likes a really serious bruise.

Jiang Xin and Bai Lang have this extremely cute scene together where she apologizes and he holds her.
Jiang Xin and Bai Lang have this extremely cute scene together where she apologizes and he holds her. I hope you guys have a really good ending :'(.

This 1930’s Chinese set ❤ ❤
Jiang Xin head back with Bai Lang to Shanghai. Screencaps:
Ye Xin gets announced officially as the daughter of the Ye family.
Meanwhile Papa Jiang keeps writing Jiang Xin letters. This pulls at my heartstrings so much. He’s so worried about her – he knows her well enough that she hasn’t forgotten him (well she has, but from amnesia) and it breaks my heart to see him carry on every day alone without her by his side and without her care too after all these years…
omg I’m on like episode 7 and this drama is so hard to watch… i’m only watching it because Tang Yan and Hawick is in it …

i know it’s three years later, but your review is hilarious! Thank goodness for them too because there are no English subtitles for this series on youtube, except for the last two episodes for some reason someone took the time to sub them. So I super appreciate you taking the time to recap every single episode. WOW! You’re a drama heroine lol.
And I totally agreed with you on cursing the producers, because I fell so in love with these two as well and I found it really difficult to get through the series after episode 19 when..well you know what happens. I felt that the plot and characters took a drastic twist that I couldn’t enjoy the series as much anymore. The writers really need to stop trying so hard to be come up with new material and stick to classic good old fashioned, traditional Chinese romance.
