千金女賊 LADY AND THE LIAR EPISODE 29, 30 RECAP/REVIEW SYNOPSIS AND SUMMARY + 32, 33 TRAILER

F*ck this drama

Imagine this: you’re in your last undergraduate university class, and your professor just assigned you one last group assignment that will determine whether you will graduate with first honours (with unconditional acceptance into a graduate Master’s or PhD degree) or whether you will fail and you’ll have to restart your four year degree.

The assignment is an easy – it’s literally just a five page paper on your major. But there’s one catch: the faculty dean’s son is in your group and you have to listen to what he says, and if you don’t, you’ll still fail your undergraduate degree.

And the dean’s son says, “Let’s do a video project”.

Everyone in the group says, “Wait, what? We only have to do an easy five-page assignment. This is the easiest thing we’ve been ever asked to do. A video project wasn’t even assigned.”

“A video project,” he insisted, “With a lot of star wipe transitions. With Katy Perry’s
‘Roar’ playing in the background”.

And all you could do was watch in horror, as everything that ever mattered to you and all you had worked for four years that could’ve been completed easily, be wrecked and ruined to the worst extent to the point of no return.

That’s how I feel about this drama. It feels like I’ve come such a long way and the producers decided to throw me such a big curve ball. These episodes were unbearable. And the upcoming episodes look unbearable. It’s like being in between a sea of needles and a firey hell. It started off so well. What happened?!

The episode starts back where it had ended, at the temple. Jiang Xin is asking the monk about her love life. Bai Lang takes out a bill and waves it behind Jiang Xin and continuously sticks bills in while the monk speaks in his favour. So, the monk is biased and tries to get Jiang Xin to pick Bai Lang.

…Which she promptly refutes his reasoning and refuses. Then WHY DID YOU EVEN ASK HIM IF YOU ALREADY HAD AN ANSWER?! If I felt unimpressed before, now I’m just agitated.

Meanwhile, Tang Hu realizes that Ye Xin has been adding in an antidote into Mama Ye’s medicine – so instead of poisoning Mama Ye slowly, she has actually been helping Mama Ye become more healthy.

Ye Xin has a surprisingly nice scene with Jie Wen. Under the blackmailing pressure of Tang Hu, she asks Jie Wen to come out to comfort her. She obviously really likes him. She gives him the vague backstory of her life and he’s very comforting and supportive to her.

She asks, “If I changed, and became perfect, would you love me like how you love Jiang Xin?”

This tugged at my heart strings so much. You see that Ye Xin is just an insecure girl who knows her faults, and knows that she shouldn’t be doing what she’s doing. She knows she’s wrong, and she really just wants to be loved. It reminded me of a stage that we all go through in life where we just wish we were ‘perfect’ things would go perfectly, and maybe if we were ‘flawless’ with no faults that the person we love would love us back.

He says, “If I changed too, perhaps I would”.

We see this next scene where the police commissioner takes Bai Lang out for dinner, and brings him two beautiful big breasted women to get over Jiang Xin.

Jiang Xin sees this, gets jealous, and sits down in front of him to dare him to continue to eat with the women by his side.

Feeling amused that she’s jealous, Bai Lang does what he’s told. Jiang Xin angrily storms out of the restaurant and Bai Lang chases after her.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.22.47 AM

Like COME ON. Jiang Xin does not have a right to be jealous at all. She’s the one that is all over Jie Wen at this point, and she needs to put herself back into her place. If you are going to commit to a relationship, then don’t be wishy-washy. Don’t be jealous and don’t storm out.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.23.36 AMScreen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.24.09 AM

She spews out hateful words towards him again, breaks his heart. They’re always touting about how kind she is but honestly, to be so mean and say such poisonous things all the time, I feel like she really isn’t that great. She’s just as bad as Ye Xin in so many aspects.

Ye Xin lures Tang Hu into an abandoned barn close to the Bai family mansion – Tang Hu thinks he’s going to get laid. She slipped him some roofie-like drug and he becomes paralyzed. Then she burns him alive (which I think he deserved).

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.27.14 AM

The next day both Jie Wen and Shi Tou are at the barn with the burnt corpse. Jie Wen is there because he’s a reporter, and Shi Tou is there because the barn is close to the Bai mansion and he needs to check out what’s going on. Jie Wen notices that the death of Tang Hu is suspicious and eerily similar to Papa Jiang’s. Shi Tou noticed that there were two pieces of evidence nearby – a knife that identifies the body as Tang Hu, and the lotus leaf coin necklace.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.31.21 AMScreen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.31.23 AM

Shi Tou delivers the evidence to Bai Lang, and he noticed that the lotus leaf coin necklace was the same one that Jiang Xin had wore when he first met her. After investigating through Mr. Wang (the assistant to the Ye estate) and confirming through Jie Wen, they realize that Jiang Xin is the real Ye heiress, and Ye Xin’s real identity is a thief named Du Xiao Han.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.55.08 AM

Oh Mama Ye. She refuses to believe this when Bai Lang, Jie Wen, and Mr. Wang tell her of all this. There’s no solid evidence. Before she leaves, Bai Lang warns her that if this is true, Ye Xin is a murderer, and Mama Ye is in danger if she goes back. She still goes back.

Well, sh*t. Trailer 32, 33

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.56.09 AM

What the hell is she thinking then, to confront Ye Xin about her true identity? Bai Lang even warned her. Goddamn.

Jiang Xin somehow shows up.

F*cking Jiang Xin shoots Bai Lang out of frustration and anger after she remembered everything. I thought she was ‘kind’, ‘good-hearted’, and ‘innocent’. What a load of crap. If she was truly a kind and sweet person she would not try to murder someone out of anger.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 9.59.49 AM

Don’t worry guise, because Episode 33 trailer shows that Bai Lang is alive and well. It appears that he doesn’t care about Jiang Xin anymore, and the Ye family. Good. You deserve something better, and Jiang Xin does not deserve your love.

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 10.01.18 AMScreen Shot 2015-02-11 at 10.01.26 AM

Remember how Tang Hu takes the 9 million dollar estate to buy stocks? Well now the Ye family has to pay it back, and Jiang Xin is figuring out how. If she can’t find the money she will go bankrupt.

Sigh… this drama. Imagine that the hockey team you were rooting for had a 10-0 lead during the playoff games, and proceeded to lose by 10-52 by half-time.

I can’t stop watching because I have a sliver of hope that my team will somehow bounce back but still… it looks complicated and unappealing from here on. Sigh I used to gush about this drama too )’:

I pretty much said same thing few episodes back that jiang xin did not deserve bai lang. Considering her character she shouldn’t even be capable of firing the gun. I started hating her almost from when the drama started, she doesn’t appear realistic to me. What the hell were the producers thinking?! Were they all drunk when they wrote this script? Surely the actress must raise some questions as why her character is portrayed like this. Maybe she should die in the end instead of bai lang at least I wouldn’t be as broken hearted. This drama is going downhill, I only skim through parts of it now because it’s unbearable for me to watch. I show more sympathy to the thief than to JX. Bai lang has helped her so much from behind the scenes, am I the only one watching bai lang and screaming “JX is nothing special! Go get laid with another girl!”

I am so glad we are always agreeing on the plot of the dramas! It didn’t start to annoy me until the past few episodes and to be honest, I wish that Jiang Xin would die instead of Bai Lang too. But now that their relationship is so broken, at least I don’t dread the ending so much.

I skim through a lot of too, except the parts with Bai Lang because he is so handsome. I also empathize more with the thief now because at least her character is much more human and believable too.

Yes at least the thief knows what she wants and how to go about it (even if it is wrong), she knows she loves mama ye and she loves Jie Wen (because he is the only person she can talk to), at least her mind isn’t wishy washy. I don’t agree with the things Ye Xin does but I can see why she does it, she has poor upbringing and was never loved.. So mama ye and JW is everything to her. She keeps doing bad things because it is her only way of survival.

JX has no right to be jealous of bai lang, she dare him to flirt with those women, so he did. Yet she can’t handle it. She left him so wtf! So much conflict going on with her! I want her to just be with JW now and just leave bai lang alone, or watch her crawl back to bai lang for his love and he rejects her.

Haha I skim through parts and just watch bai lang scenes too lol hey even if this drama is piss poor, at least we get some eye candy out of it!

I enjoy reading your recaps so much! lol I’ve seen the extended trailer and the first episode (I couldn’t watch more because of my hectic schedule). Everything looked so good! I was so excited for this drama and I love Hawick Lau, Tony Yang and Yang Rong… I’ve never seen Tiffany Tang in a drama before though I knew who she was. After reading your recaps, I seriously don’t want to watch episode 2 and so on… I don’t wanna waste my time on it… UGH… It’s so frustrating! I want to rip out my hair! It had so much potential, why did the writers ruin it? T_T But it’s based on a manga, so I guess it’s the original author’s fault? Or perhaps the writers of the drama edited the story and added their own crazy/stupid ideas.

Jiang Xin is dumb. Her mom is dumb for not believing Bai Lang. Now we know why Jiang Xin is so dumb. Like mother, like daughter. However, the grandpa was very smart.

And it is weird that I’m starting to feel emphatic towards Ye Xin… perhaps because she’s more realistic than Jiang Xin although she’s twisted.

Grandpa wasn’t really smart either, lol he asked Ye Xin to confess even though he suspected her of killing the pawn broker (I mean come on would anyone in their right mind confront a killer?!) He should of secretly gathered evidence like he did then use it against her, not confront her. I was sad he died but it could have been avoided… Oh well drama

As for the mother, she didn’t want to believe as Ye Xin wholeheartedly has been good to her. So it’s understandable she wants to believe it is not true. It is sad that she died too, and there is a scene where Ye Xin has the scarf that mama Ye made for her and wept. She seems more distraught over mama ye than JX does (again making JX another unbelievable character)

I don’t think we will see JX and bai lang together anytime soon (until Japan invades), still some scenes we not seen where they hold hands walking, kissing. Also seems from trailers that at some point bai lang gets together with that bitchy actress that we see from episode 1. His sidekicks appear to die during the invasion 😦

Can anyone answer me the scene when JW kiss JX outside the factory? I saw the opening and they were wearing same clothes and same scenes but it was JX that pulled him towards her for a kiss. Is that just bad editing? Am I only one that notice that?

Ah yes, I forgot, you’re right about Grandpa!

I only watched the first episode and a few scenes of many episodes while my mom was watching. It’s good to know Ye Xin wholeheartedly has been good to the mother.

These episodes and the trailers put me in a bad mood today! I can’t believe JX is really going to shoot Bai Lang! I’m hoping it’s a dream! I know he’ll survive but come on now! That wound tho… Ugh! Plus I knew you were mad as well bc you are on the ball with recaps! 😄

Heh thanks. I can’t blame him for being cold to her anymore because she’s betrayed him so much… I mean, even I hate her at this point -_- I just want some sweet scenes of them together before the drama goes sour and things become tragic.

So Idk if this helps or not but I’m super impatient when it comes to endings soemtimes. I’m going to assume the book ending will be the same as the tv ending. I went ahead and asked someone who read the book.. She didn’t give me full disclosure but just said that “the outcome of the story is good” and to keep watching. This brings me a little hope.. 😬. I hope she’s not messing with me.

I did. I got very mad at that trailer too because they made it so complicated T_______T I can’t even. Why can’t the producers just give us a straightforward OTP love storyline?

Bai lang bring that biatch down! Sorry I’m ranting I’m just so annoyed, I expected it, but perhaps she accidentally shot him but NO, she intentionally steal his gun and shot him. FK U JIANG XIN!

I was searching all over the place for a blog in English that talked about this drama. Finally!

I was reading someone’s take on Jiang Xin shooting Bai Lang this morning on Baidu Tieba. Not sure if you saw it as well, it was mostly about Jiang Xin loving Bai Lang so deeply that she grabbed the gun out of that love plus the frustration that developed from it. As much as I think she doesn’t deserve Bai Lang, I can certainly see how her emotions for him would have instigated the act. The root of all evil, according to Jiang Xin right now, is her love for him and not Bai Lang himself. In a way, shooting him is like getting rid of her love and at the same time letting them start on clean slates. He doesn’t owe her anything further and she doesn’t either.

It’s only here were we will see Jiang Xin transform and mature.

Jiang Xin is irrational. How did she conclude it is bai lang fault? Yes he did deceive her, but if he didn’t care for her after her accident she wouldn’t of survived. She said so at the time when they were together. Ye Xin still pushed her out the train and YX still would have lost her memories. Her identity would still have been stolen (cos of her stupidness, no one else to blame), either way she had amnesia and bai lang took care of her.

I have some satisfaction after seeing bai lang give her the cold shoulder and said it’s not worth having a woman who tried to kill him. Shooting him in the chest is a big thing, he could have died. I don’t want to see them together anymore, but apparently they will get back together. Dunno how that will happen as Jie Wen is still in the picture….. Unless he dies soon… Lol I was watching the recent episodes with so much anger and frustration watching JX, does anyone else think her facial expression is funny when hanging off the building? Her expression was normal as if she was going for a morning walk in the park.

I completely agree!!! I’m really disappointed in her and what she did, but I still really want her to get with Bai Lang. They are still the OTP in my heart and I miss the initial sweet scenes of them two together.

I think I blame her expressionless look on her circle lenses… She always just looks confused or ‘innocent’ because the lenses make her eyes so dolly.
