I haven’t done the recap for today yet, and I’ll probably do a four episode one tomorrow instead because, work. But someone sent me an upcoming drama trailer that looks exactly like the Lady and the Liar drama. It features Huang Xiao Ming and Joe Chen – very famous Chinese and Taiwanese actor/actress.
1930’s; a reluctant female lead; an overprotective influential mafia-boss male lead; and still Shanghai?! This is gonna air during or right after Lady and the Liar so there are bound to be comparisons.
Plus, Huang Xiao Ming apparently is also “Er Ye” so he’s the second brother of the family as well. I feel like that even though these are so similar, I’ll probably watch this one as well, just because it has so many famous actors and actresses in it as well.
What do you think? Would you watch it?

I saw the trailer! The female lead looks so pretty, but the male lead is so-so. I will probably give the first few episodes a try 🙂

Might watch it if you review it, I like good looking male/female leads but these 2 don’t appeal too me (I don’t know who they are)

I heard about these drama earlier than The Lady and The Liar although yes, they have quite similar story line but I’m going to watch for sure since both of the leads are my favorite 😀

I read the book before and disliked it. Jin Xiu is like Jiang Xin even without the amnesia–totally clueless and naive.
The author barely developed Zuo Zhen’s character. I mean, yes he was cool and reserved, but was interesting as a block of wood. Hope he has some more personality in the drama.

Ugh I hate female leads like that… I just want a quick-witted heroine for once (and for once I would like to see a realistic and slightly cynical female lead too)

Have you watched Tang Yan’s Agent X before? Loved her character there. She had so much spunk there.

Dunno if it’s just me or what but I think 戚迹 (the main Japanese bad guy with the stick) is rather handsome. More handsome than male lead.
