HOLY, HAWICK
Let’s get this out of the way – I have nothing against plastic surgery at all. If you’re unhappy with something on your body, hell yes, go fix it! It holds true for everything – fix that smoking habit, fix that wardrobe if you really needed to, and if you dislike your eyes – ya, go fix it! Life is too short to live with something you dislike – just everything in moderation though. If you overdo it like this:
I would probably question your life choices and personal judgement, but still, it wouldn’t mean that I respect you any less than the next person who decided to dye their hair purple or decided to tattoo ‘Miley Cyrus’ on their chest.
No seriously, what the hell were you thinking?
Hawick is undoubtedly so handsome after his surgeries, and his career has flown to new heights after his surgeries.
I honestly didn’t know about his surgeries until my sister told me, so I decided to look it up. I realize there isn’t a lot of his before/comparison pictures, so I decided to create a post about it. ENJOY:

Okok some of it can definitely be attributed to puberty and maturing, plus better style, but the eyes has definitely been touched up.

You know how after you get double eyelid surgery, your eyelids immediately inflate a bit and swell – that’s the double eyelid surgery immediately afterwards I think. The double eyelids definitely look so much more natural now that it’s not swollen anymore.

Honestly I think the most obvious part is the eyes – and I know a lot of girls in my life that have gotten it done too. I don’t think there’s much stigma behind doing the eyelids… I’m still on the fence about the nose and chin allegations:
I think his nose and jaw surgery is debatable. I mean… My face shape has changed as I’ve grown up (albeit for the worse because it got more square) and his nose seems like it’s always been somewhat straight. I never underestimate the power of make-up contouring because contouring always has helped me achieve a sharper chin and straighter nose.
PRESENT DAY HAWICK:
10/10. I mean he looks so much better than before, I really don’t blame him for the surgeries.
I watched news on Apple Daily about how ‘Master of Destiny’ is flopping like crazy in HK. Everyone’s talking about his plastic face since Hong Kongers have known him since the pre-plastic days, and there’s still a lot of stigma behind getting surgery in HK. I don’t really care about the surgeries if the actor/plotline is good, but Master of Destiny is so damn crappy and boring, just like Double Life of Veronique. He really picked the worst possible dramas to be in. ‘Master of Destiny’ (according to Apple Daily) has dropped from 1,7 mil viewers to less than 1.29 viewers – that’s even worse than the drama ‘Love Come Home’, which is essentially as shameful as a normal re-run episode of ‘The Simpsons’ beating a fresh episode of ‘Game of Thrones’.
Oh Hawick, how you’ve fallen off since your Bai Lang days (literally a few months ago). He’s literally the Jennifer Lopez of the early 2000’s when she dropped like two albums and six movies all in a short period of time, and everyone became sick of seeing her everywhere. I hope Hawick picks better scripts next time!!! What’s the point of acting in a drama and being the first male lead, when no one’s watching because of the crappy script?

The eye and jawline have had some work done. As for his nose it’s either contouring (like said) or a little tuck at the edges.
Personally I think he looked more refreshing before. At the end of the day it might just have been that he lost his baby fat.
Plastic surgery or none, he is a talented person. So long as he doesn’t start injecting needles into his face restricting him of facial movement.

What aspect of fake do you not understand (the author of this article about Hawick’s plastic surgery? Hawick Lau looks quite handsome but Hawick Lau is NOT so handsome after his plastic surgery. That is NOT true that Hawick/Hoi Wai Lau looks so handsome. His dramas are doing well because Hawick has really good acting skills. You are wrong and not reasonable to give him 10/10 and that is your opinion and not a fact. A measurement (as long as no errors and with no fake statistics), then a measurement is a fact and would be true. As a Chinese Asian girl, I have a much more beautiful figure and nicer face vs. Hawick and yet, I would not give myself a 10/10, maybe a 9/10 instead for this Chinese girl. My female Asian friends indicate that I am a very pretty Chinese Asian girl, and I do not need to go around cheating like that. Please note that there are other Chinese Asian actors who are more handsome, (their face) than Hawick.

Playboy caucasian women look ugly and are rude with or without excessive plastic surgery. Playboy American women are chubby but using digitally altered and FAKE photos online and videos, Playboy caucasian women, Pamela Anderson has chubby thighs, fat arms and is 49 yrs.old and has a face lift and looks 55 yrs old. Pamela Anderson is crazy and is not happy with some parts of her gross face and vulgar body, and has 31B and has triple breast implants. (49 yrs. 46 yrs or 33 yrs of age) have small and flat breasts, use fake statistics, use digital breast implants in fake pictures and videos.

Pamela Anderson looks ugly and is really bad with digitally altered photos to appear 20 pounds or 45 lbs falsely slimmer. Natalie Portman does not look beautiful at all and would have plastic surgery as well. Only men who look ugly who cannot get a girlfriend would be STUPID enough to pay money or give credit card money to look at FAKE pictures of digitally enhanced fat ugly caucasian porno women online.
Please note that Chinese Asian girls have slimmer figures and more lovely figures and faces. That 49 year old chubby Pamela has the worst mental illness, and needs to stop harassing people. Whether I am 30 or 35 yrs of age, I am younger in age by 10-15 yrs and with nicer skin, I look younger by 20-25 years than her.
As a Chinese Asian girl, I have a more beautiful figure, nicer face, more slender figure and nicer curves (rare for other people). I have beautiful long silky black hair, I have bigger and nicer eyes without cheating.

As a Chinese Asian girl, I look much more sexy and I am not mean like those bad and ugly caucasian pin up women who are fraudulent, are NOT beautiful at all American fat Playboy women with 31B (add breast implants, otherwise not 34C, not 34D) ugly figures when naked or half naked. That Miley Cyrus is the most UGLY tatoo ever. That caucasian man with the light skin must look ugly to tatoo that disgusting Miley’s name on his chest, The calligraphy might look nice but that has nothing to do with this aggressive caucasian/white female woman. OMG. This post is 1) hilarious and 2) taught me so much about Hawick. I had never been a fan of him and never succeeded to finish watching even one of his dramas. He is always getting first lead roles and I thought it must be because of his parents and his wife, all very well connected in the show biz. So, I do hope he uses his connections wiser so that he acts better and bring in more ratings. Anyway, all these plastic surgery make me worry about his baby with Yang Mi. After all, Yang Mi is also known for getting extensive ps all over her face.

I love Hawick but couldn’t help to agree with your post, especially when it comes to his latest flops. Script problems but also lack of chemistry with the leads. I would rather him take his time and roll out huge hits than what we have now. Sigh.
Concerning the plastic surgery, I knew he had some but didn’t know it was that much. I didn’t recognize him in some pictures. He still looks good 🙂 Hopefully, more good projects to come in the future. As a Hawick fan, I can’t stand to be disappointed no more!

well actually the before is not really bad, he can still be considered as good looking before, but now he is just freaking hot. I just like that he didnt overdo it like many female actresses
By the way, recently I just watched ‘love for three lifetimes’ (qing ding san sheng) and the male lead, zhu yi long, really remind me of hawick in lady and the liar. well the story also has a bit similarity with lady and the liar regarding the identity swap.

Hawick is look good & hot ! ..Hope TVB will give him more good scrips to anchor him since there are no more good looking guys in their stable of actors to play romantic leads (Moses, Steven, Wayne, Kevin, Lawrence, Bobby etc are already aging and ready for daddy-roles)

Hi Deer Lee … where can I find your synopsis on “Master of Destiny” – the drama series now showing on Astro on Demand in Malaysia … the storyline is quite good. I like Hawick’s portrayal of Chi Yuen – a nice guy – cool silent type so unlike Chi Ko’s – flappable & empty-headed character.

I never thought about him having had surgery. He looks the same to me. I have been watching his dramas since he’s TVB days, and if anything, I think age has matured some of his features, and working out plus better dress and hair style has improved his look. Make up probably is one of the reasons the chin, cheeks and nose seem more angled/defined. If there is anything strange at all, it’s the fact that he still looks 20s when he’s in his 40s. Crazy. Master of Destiny is pretty boring but the last few chapters have improved.

I think Hawick played the part of Chi Yuen very well – looks great as a rich young man … poised, cool, self-controlled guy. TVB should take note of him & hope to see him in more interesting dramas. Best wishes to Hawick

In my opinion, he acted best as “Mo Shao Qian” [莫绍谦] in 2011 series “Sealed with a Kiss” [千山暮血](eventhough female lead isnt that pretty). He won an award playing that character. And yes, I agree he looks better after surgery. He was very cool and handsome in “The Lady and The Liar” [千金女贼]. Quite a nice drama too.

Thank you for your recommendation of Hawick’s dramas .. I will certainly look out for “Sealed with a Kiss” and “The Lady & The Liar”. I live in Malaysia so if these are not TBV dramas, I dont think these will come my way. Will try You-tube to get to the China’s drama (hopefully it has English sub!). I managed to catch Hawick’s “Master of Destiny” as it was aired on Astro On Demand recently and was impressed with his acting & good looks. Cheers.

I used to think Hawick’s change of look was due to his maturation and loss of weight, but I noticed a small scar in between his two nostrils when I was watching ‘Master of Destiny’. I have no objection to plastic surgery, beside, I agree with what he said in one of his interviews: ‘Everyone can decide what they like to do with their face. If you don’t like it, don’t look at them.’ However, I am feeling a bit disappointed with some further statements that he made in the interview. He said, ‘Nothing has been implanted or extracted from his face.’ He further said, ‘There has never been any surgery carried out on his face.’ The first statement could possibly be true, but they are disguising as incision on his eyelids and tip rhinoplasty on his nose do not involve the said procedures. The second statement is most likely to be a lie. I would prefer him avoid answering the interview questions or admitting what he has done, rather than giving confusing answers like that. Saying that, I still like him, but I would doubt his honesty on any comments that he has made and would make in the future. It is hard to be a public figure, but as he has taken up the profession as an actor, he needs to be very careful with regard to his behavior.

I know! I mean, I really don’t think it’s a big deal to get surgery anymore, since injections and small cosmetic surgeries are very common, especially in Taiwan, but to lie about it is a different story. I would too, rather that he would just not speak about it at all

There are few flaws in this post I would like to point out that might weaken your allegation.
1) The comparison pictures don’t show the same facial features, various degree of smiling would effect the overall eyes, nose, mouth, bad choice for comparisons.
2) You didn’t factor loss of baby fat
3) Quality of the old pictures are too low to support your assertions.
4) All modern photos are photoshop. Screen caps are more accurate depictions of the actor or actress.

He actually didn’t have single eyelids in the past… They were more of a concealed double where the crease ends up almost at the lash line. It’s likely he did something to enhance them. Either way, he’s pretty smokin’.
