I RUV happy endings
After much snooping on the internet, I finally found a summary of the book that Cruel Romance is based on in English on F Yeah Huang Xiao Ming. Seems like the drama missed out a lot of parts already – about Jin Xiu living on the streets and eating food scraps, etc., and they added in those scenes of Jin Xiu and Zuo Zhen meeting at the harbour, and her saving him.
It also seems like maybe the Japanese influence wasn’t as big in the book?
But regardless, we all know we’re not watching it for the politics but merely the OTP action :3. I’m kinda dreading the complication about Ying Shao and the jealousy of Zuo Zhen but I’m happy the in the end, they reconcile and it’s a happy ending.
I like how this tumblr lists which actor/actress plays what. Can someone tell me who Zhang TianYe (the person that plays MaZi Liu) is? I tried googling and I couldn’t find them, and I feel like I haven’t seen them yet in the drama… Any clue?
Deer Drama 
The drama is *really* different from the book. But I guess they had to add some sort of “big baddie” character throughout the story. When I was reading the book, I never got the impression that the stakes were particularly high. Though the fight scene between Zuo Zhen and Mazi Liu was still pretty epic. I hope they keep that in the drama.

Yeah!!! It’s so different even from the book synopsis so it must be really different than the actual book itself
