Omfg this drama has taken such a dark turn.

So it happened.

I held this pose and reaction for watching these few episodes, thinking ‘OH GOD WHY make it stop make it stop make it stop’.

I don’t know why I had this small sliver of hope, wishing that someone would manage to save her in time but when I saw that shot of her naked and tears all over her face, I died a little bit inside.

And Long Yi had the fucking audacity to tell her that she didn’t deserve to lie there on his bed and that she needed to ‘get back to her mission’, and that she’s nothing but a chess piece.

HOW COULD YOU?!

How… could… you do that?

Ming Zhu finally returns home, and Xiang Han Chuan is ecstatic that Ming Zhu didnt’ leave him. He offers to make her his wife.

Suddenly Ying Dong shows up and acts like a three year old child and can only yell at his brother and Ming Zhu. They both fight over her and act like two dogs over a rope – in the end, she runs off.

The hell? How and when did Jing Ling get out of jail?!

Finally the confrontation arrives between Boss Fung and Zuo Zhen.

Boss Fung shows up at Zuo Zhen’s house for the first time after his attack at the warehouse. Zuo Zhen responds with bringing out one of the assassins in front of Boss Fung to ask him in front of everyone to say who had ordered the assassination.

Long Si, felt under pressure, and decided to shoot the guy before he could open his mouth. Zuo Zhen drew the line, and Boss Fung agreed not to cross lines again.

Relieved that they’re safe now, Jin Xiu and Zuo Zhen have a moment of sweetness.

I hope y’all enjoy these sweet OTP moments while you can because I watched spoilers (which I’ll outline) and it is not a happy ending.

All motivated to win back Ming Zhu, Ying Dong tries to prove himself to be a man by starting on a new business venture with a new racetrack on a new piece of land.

Expected from the brat that he is, Ying Dong demands for half the inheritance for this rash investment. Yes. This can only go badly.

Meanwhile, Long Yi had his eyes on this piece of land for a long time, because apparently there’s a lot of gold underneath. After finding out Ying Dong is taking on this project, he laughs creepily in his office.

Ying Dong refuses to work with Long Yi, so Long Yi decides to go to Long Si for hookups to Boss Shum.

Boss Shum very loudly and conveniently states the two things that he wants the most in his life: to have Ming Zhu, and to get revenge on Ying Dong for him hurting his daughter.

OH! How suspiciously convenient! Those two things perfectly align with Long Yi too!

Long Yi sends Ming Zhu on one last task, and tells her that she’ll receive complete freedom after completing this: separating the Xiang brothers.

She does this by asking Ying Dong to leave to England, but Ying Dong having an inferiority complex, takes it as an insult, as he took it as her thinking that he can’t handle being in Shanghai, and he’s ‘not a man’. This ‘man’ thing is such a reoccurring topic that you can’t help but think about what he’s compensating for.

But regardless, she successfully did separate the brothers, as she drove the wedge further between them, because Ying Dong felt like that Xiang Han Chuan was better in every way, and he didn’t want to ask for his help.

Episode 25 ended with this:

WTF are those?! Are those weasels?! IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE CUTE?!

The episode starts with Long Yi thanking Ming Zhu for completing her last mission, and gives her a glass of wine to seal the deal of her freedom…

She wakes up all groggy and weak and gets raped by Boss Shum as I proceed to die slowly inside.

I don’t think I can do this anymore. I watch dramas to escape reality, not to live nightmares ok?! I hate Long Yi so much at this point – the way he treats her, the way he values human lives and dignity.

You think it gets better? No. It doesn’t. Brace yourself.

Long Yi already had multiple investors buy portions of the shares of the racetrack. For the last part of his plan, he wanted Boss Shum to buy a portion of Ying Dong’s shares, so they could usurp the project to dig for gold. Ying Dong refuses to work with Boss Shum and Long Yi (obviously). It’s stupid that Long Yi thought that he could even use Boss Shum to get this to work since Ying Dong is such an emotional person that he wouldn’t work with anybody he didn’t like.

So, in response to that, Long Yi gets someone to shoot Ying Dong later that night.

No feels here, I hate Ying Dong.

This originally was to allow Long Yi to usurp the project, since he had half of the shares (from small investors) after Ying Dong was down, but Xiang Han Chuan took on the project personally, and Zuo Zhen backed it up too. With both of them combined, the project was back on track, so Long Yi took a different avenue.

I just want to point out Ma Zi Liu is on the first left of Xiang Han Chuan. Isn’t he Zuo Zhen’s guy? What’s he doing there?

He got Ming Zhu to open up the safe and take a picture of a contract or agreement. For what that contract or agreement was, I really don’t know – they didn’t really make it clear. I even paused the screen to read the Chinese on the contract and all it really said was “Contract”.

And really?! They made cameras this small back in the 1930’s? 

Anyways Long Yi threatens to release this ‘contract’ (ok seriously I really have no clue what this document is other than that) for the complete ownership of the racetrack project.

Xiang Han Chuan is not to be threatened of course. He says no, and that the contract can be released if Long Yi wants.

Before Long Yi leaves, he hints for Xiang Han Chuan to be careful of the people around him, which obviously meant Ming Zhu. Xiang Han Chuan still plays it cool.

Ying Dong wakes up from his coma and he checks in on the status on the racetrack.

Xiang Han Chuan advised him against pursuing the racetrack (despite what he said to Long Yi, so I guess he was just pulling a poker face). Ying Dong, pretty much testing our patience and limits, acts like a spoiled child yet again, and insists on pursuing it.

Like any other man with an inferiority complex, he sees any worry or concern for him to be because he’s ‘weak’ or something.

I found a video that details spoilers and what happens later in the drama, which I’m in the middle of translating for next post and it only goes downhill from here. Things get sadder and more complicated. Prepare for the feels and tears.
