OK THE DRAMA IS GETTING BETTER
Ok I know I have been complaining a lot for the past few days, but this drama is actually getting better… in the next episodes 13 & 14. So that’s why I’m going to just quickly fill in for these two, and move onto episode 13 and 14 recap. I think the drama finally picking up after so many episodes!!!
PS. So many good dramas coming out this summer! Lots of Hawick, and there’s one with Jerry Yan too *__*.
Shao Tian refuses to work with Lu Man again, stating that he’s going to leave for Tian Jin, willing to leave everything.
As you remember, at the end of the last episode, Cai Hong went to loan sharks to borrow money to return to the small fabric businesses, even though she had absolutely no means to return the money back.
I guess her reasoning is that she’s going to be leaving to Tian Jin anyways, so she can borrow money an not return it (WHICH IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE BTW, this totally does not fit into the whole ‘pure-girl-of-integrity’ persona when you’re doing something so thoughtless). Plus this is so dumb, if she’s running away anyways, why is she creating debt from loan sharks to run away from, when she could have easily ran from the small fabric business owners? This so pure dumbness.
Fei Fei invites Jiang Yu to be her wedding partner later on that night. Jiang Yu agrees, and tells her that he’ll meet her there.
Jiang Yu receives a call to find out that Cai Hong borrowed money from loan sharks, and so he goes off to find her. He finds out that her and her family actually packed up to leave – so he tells Boss Qian (Shao Tian’s lender) what’s going on. Boss Qian, who’s lent Shao Tian so much money, obviously starts looking for him after realizing that he’s trying to run away from the debt.
Boss Qian’s guys get to Shao Tian and Cai Hong before they were able to leave.
Meanwhile Jiang Yu thinks it’s a good idea (somehow, I don’t understand the logic either) just to ride around the street of the town just to look for Cai Hong.
Ah… And we can all see where this is going. Fei Fei stands outside the mansion of the wedding, waiting for Jiang Yu arrives, but since he’s too busy trying to find a needle in a haystack, obviously she’ll be disappointed by the end of the night.
Cai Hong knocks Shao Tian out with a stick so that a man carrying cargo can take him out of the town.
Seriously though, people back then must have gotten so many concussions.
Finally Jiang Yu’s finding a needle in a haystack strategy worked (he actually found her through making rounds through the streets, what do you know), and forces her into the carriage.
While Jiang Yu is executing his kidnapping, poor Fei Fei is still waiting.
Poor Fei Fei is humiliated and left standing alone outside the mansion.
Turns out Cai Hong was captured for the purpose of this show. Boss Qian threatens Shao Tian in a factory to kill him if he doesn’t return the money. By putting on this show and having Shao Tian think that his life is on the line, then he would use the money that he stole from Ling Long. They even got one of Jiang Yu’s worker and pretended to chop off his hand to scare Shao Tian.
Except Cai Hong’s stupid bracelet falls from the upper levels and Shao Tian realizes that this was all a trick to get him to confess in front of her. He was about to confess, but upon realizing this, starts laughing.
Cai Hong, thinking that everything is real, and that someone’s hand just got chopped off, fears for Shao Tian. She breaks out of her ropes and rushes downstairs. She blocks the axe hit right before it falls on Shao Tian.
Aw and then Jiang Yu rushes towards Cai Hong with such care and gentleness. He really cares about her, and the way he cares for her is pretty romantic.
Cai Hong is sent to the hospital and Jiang Yu waits by her side. Even though a axe just fell on her back, the doctor says that there wias no permanent damage, and all she needs is bedrest (typical unrealistic drama medical circumstances).
She wakes up and starts throwing hurtful words towards him again, thinking that he really did chop someone’s arm off in order to prove a point to her.
While Jiang Yu is gone, Cai Hong escapes outside of her hospital to find her stepmom and her sister, afraid that something bad might have happened to them because of Cai Hong’s debt.
How can your life be so goddamn *ma fan? My life is so drama-free compared to you.
*Common cantonese word for cumbersome
Cai Hong was right, the loan sharks are at her house. At the same time, Shao Tian shows up. All that happens is that he gets his ass kicked by all of the me of the loan shark.
At this moment, Cai Hong is about to get sold to the brothels, and he’s getting beaten up, Shao Tian is about to say that he has the money, except Jiang Yu suddenly shows up.
Shao Tian refuses to budge at this point and continues to get beaten up. Cai Hong pleads Jiang Yu to make the loan shark stop, and Jiang Yu caves. He agrees to repay off Cai Hong’s debt on the condition that she agrees to one thing that he says.
I LOL-ed at this scene. Did they bring out a chair just for him? If so, why did they have to bring out also a table? And another chair? This is so silly LOL.
Jiang Yu forces Cai Hong to leave with him, because she said that she would agree to any condition that he had.
Before they leave, Cai Hong stumbles slightly and Jiang Yu take her hand and looks at her with such a caring and concerned look – ugh it’s looks like these that make me love him so much.
Jealous Shao Tian looks at him with defeat..
And Jiang Yu looks at him with slight triumph…
And grabs onto Cai Hong’s arm tighter…
And takes her away. ❤
Jiang Yu takes Cai Hong back to the hospital. His condition to her for repaying off her debt was that she must come to his house to become a servant. I kind of understand his intentions more now. He’s just a nice guy, a good guy that’s looking to protect this girl because he can see through Shiao Tian’s plans and is wanting to keep them apart to protect her. Cai Hong agrees.
Fei Fei tells him that he’s f*cking insane for doing that, and she’s right on a lot of levels, but Jiang Yu has a crush and he’s a good guy.
Meanwhile, Fei Fei takes Mama Jiang to the hospital…
And bumps into Cai Yun. They get into a fight because Fei Fei framed Cai Yun for theft. They start physically fighting and Mama Jiang try to break them up, but ends up falling down a set of stairs.
Cai Hong hears the commotion outside of her hospital room and witnesses the whole thing happen.
Again, distracted by how dark Cai Hong’s hands are compared to her face.
Mama Jiang hits her head and is seriously injured.
At the same time, Jiang Yu shows up and sees the condition of his mom.
And Hawick’s acting is so good – you can see his fury and anger when he looks up to see the Wu sisters.
Cai Hong takes all the blame for Cai Yun because she’s afraid of the repercussions against her sister. Hawick’s acting in this scene was so good – his anger, frustration, fury, rage, and how he was trying to keep it all down and still be a good guy.
The doctor reveals that Mama Jiang is seriously injured, and does not know when she will wake up from her coma.
His sadness…
His frustration…
And his anger. Man, he’s such a good actor – I really wish they found an equal female lead.
The thing though, is even through all that, thinking that she pushed his mom down a set of stairs, he still forces her to come over to be a servant… which really confuses me. But whatever, it’s a a drama. If they reasoned by logic we wouldn’t have a drama.
On Cai Hong’s first day, Fei Fei serves her a beating in front of all of the other servants just to show power and to teach her a lesson.
SO… HANDSOME.
Jiang Yu witnesses all of this but doesn’t do anything about it.
Cai Hong begs him to allow her to be Mama Jiang’s personal servant because Cai Hong’s mom suffered from a blood clot in the brain before and was in a coma too. Cai Hong felt guilty for what happened, and wanted to make up for it.
Jiang Yu refuses, and Cai Hong declares that she will kneel for as long as it takes until he changes his mind.
Really? This is another event to show the resilience of our female lead right? Like, isn’t she a servant? Why does she have so much time on her hands? Why doesn’t the lead servant tell her to do some actual work?
You can see Jiang Yu’s heart ache a little, but he doesn’t go out there until Cai Hong faints in the rain.
Sigh, his expressions of concern and care ❤.
He finally agrees to let her be Mama Jiang’s personal servant.
This was a briefer recap just so I can move onto the next one, because it’s actually getting better! I think it’s all thanks to Hawick’s acting skills (and finally some change in the plot) because I’m so excited to tune in tomorrow for what happens next.
So what’s the story with Lu Man? I get that she is loaded but that’s it. From her hair style, I’m assuming she’s married but they call her Miss. Is she a rich mistress??

I’m really not sure! I’ve paid attention to the dialogue all along and they haven’t actually had a lot of details about Lu Man at all – all I know is that she has a lot of power and money and she’s quite well-known in the community (but that’s all not saying much). Sorry I’m not more of help!
