THE GLITTER IS WEARING OFF, AND NOW WE HAVE TO CLEAN IT UP

So we’ve all been there: your close friend’s having a party, and you guys have SO much fun there and her billions of acquaintances are there too, and you’re meeting a ton of people and having a great time. It strikes 2am and people are starting to leave and you’re tired af and you want to leave too, when you realize that you’re obliged to stay until the very end with your close friend until every one leaves, to help her clean up afterwards.

This is how I feel about Destined to Love You right now. I’m accepting that Bao Bao has chosen Xiang Hao definitively to be her lover, and Shen Wen Tao slowly getting less scenes afterwards, and the real Xiao Han officially comes back – everything’s out in the open and this is their ultimate obstacle. All the fun is slowly wearing off and we’re slowly wrapping everything up. I really dislike the real Xiao Han because both the character and Zheng Shuang’s acting that I can’t wait until she’s out of the picture (which will probably in the last few episodes)

We pick up after Episode 22, where Bao Bao’s in the temple protecting the villagers, while the rebels are trying to break down the door to the entrance of the temple area in order to kill Xiang Hao. They manage to break down the door (and the cadets are JUST arriving to help) and the main rebel very loudly announces that he’s going to kill Xiang Hao for killing so many of his comrades.

Ok I just want to say that if villains can get a lot more shit done if they did everything without hesitation or having the need to announce it lor, I think that if I decided to be a successful villain one day I would never announce what I was about to do or break into some fancy monologue after killing someone, I would stick to the plan and I would pretty much be invincible.

This is because Bao Bao over hears everything and decides to run out and take a bullet for Xiang Hao. IF only the villain had just taken the shot immediately upon seeing Xiang Hao…

I would never take a bullet for someone because if I could take the time to block your bullet, you would have had enough time to move out of the way. Bao Bao seriously ran 15 feet to take a bullet. Let’s hear what MythBusters has to say:

We are all fooled that the female lead is shot (from the trailer) and the two male leads are crying and mourning over her until…

She realized that the bullet was lodged into the necklace that Xiang Hao had gifted her, and didn’t hurt her at all.

She reacts to the mourning of the two male leads by cruelly laughing and mockingly pointing at them in a condescending manner. This is why we love our female lead so much.

Because of disobeying military orders, Bao Bao and Xiang Hao are sentenced to punishment – Shen Wen Tao takes on the punishment too, because he recognized that both Xiang Hao and Bao Bao were right in what they did.

Mama Chien undergoes an operation, and in a touching scene, all of the cadets (plus Xie Tian Jiao) arrive to donate blood to Mama Chien when she was losing blood. Her operation was a success, and the day for Bao Bao to leave is coming near.

One of the rebels during the conflict (at the beginning of this post) manage to escape and puts a price on Xiang Hao’s life to hire a hitman. Which lead me to think – isn’t it so hard to actually hire a good hitman? Because I mean, the hitman can just take your money and leave right? There’s no way of going to police about it, and it’s not like you can threaten him to ask for it back, because obviously if he’s shady enough to kill someone for money, that person might as well be you right?

ANYWAYS, hitman was hired, and members of the Axe Gang were also looking to take Xiang Hao’s life, since Xiang Hao had took so many members down a month ago (at the beginning of the drama).

Xiang Hao and Bao Bao have a Valentine’s day date – there’s really nothing more I can say, it’s not like I can convey the cuteness of their romance through words – you’ve really got to watch the drama and watch the scenes. They’ve got really good chemistry, and they’re really quite cute together that I’m forgetting Shen Wen Tao quickly.

On Xiang Hao’s way back home, he gets almost-assassinated by a hitman, and so Papa Xiang commanded him to stay inside the academy for this period of time until the assassins are captured (since the military academy is the safest possible place for him).

Shen Wen Yu, feeling sorry for herself for spending Valentine’s Day alone, decides to bug Shen Wen Tao in his office, and accidentally discovers the picture of the real Xiao Han and Xiao Han’s mom.

Shen Wen Yu quickly comes to the conclusion that this Xiao Han is a fraud because that would explain a lot of things that have happened to the past. Shen Wen Yu brings it to Li Ji Zhou’s attention. Luckily, Shen Wen Yu has impeccable timing, and manages to get there to come up with an explanation about everything – the girl in the picture is not the real Xiao Han, but Bao Bao’s god sister. This is enough to shut up Shen Wen Yu, but not enough to settle Li Ji Zhou’s new suspicions.

Shen Wen Tao admits to knowing everything all along and never ratted out Bao Bao because he respected the reason why she had committed fraud.

Him and Bao Bao both agree that it’s time for her to go, especially when Mama Chien’s sickness is getting better.

Oh my gosh he even has a little jacket!!!

Bao Bao gets ready to leave, and during another date with Xiang Hao, she kisses his hand, and places it on his face to tell him that if he misses her, just place his hand on his face and pretend that its her kiss. He does the same for her, not knowing that she was going to leave.

Bao Bao cries quietly in her room as she packs up and places her hand on her face, thinking about her and Xiang Hao.

Bao Bao has one last dinner with Shen Wen Tao, and after a few drinks, Shen Wen Tao finally confesses his love to Bao Bao (except that she was too drunk to hear it) .

Meanwhile Xiang Hao cutely kisses his hand all night, thinking about Bao Bao.

His bros look at him in confusion. Xiang Hao is so cute when he’s head over heels.

Xiang Hao saw that Bao Bao wasn’t at the cafeteria in the morning. Li Tian Han revealed that Bao Bao had left with all her luggage (he says this intentionally because he knows that Xiang Hao would surely leave the academy to look for Bao Bao, putting his life in danger because of the assassins).

Xiang Hao runs to her room, realizes she has packed up everything except her earrings… so he runs to Mama Chien’s room:

Mama Chien is also gone.

Xiang Hao runs out of the academy and starts yelling for Bao Bao in the streets. Overhearing him, she decides to go find him and speak to him directly, to which he just embraced her.

Realizing that he was risking his life just to find her, she becomes very touched, and decides not to leave.

The assassins come out during this moment and try to kill Xiang Hao. Luckily, Xiang Hao takes them down and Ou Yang Fei manage to get there on time as well.

After the assassins were restrained, Xiang Hao decides not to press charges, but in fact releases the member of the Axe Gang, partially out of pity of what happened to the leader. He borrows money from Ou Yang Fei, and gifts it to the Axe Gang to send them off their way.

After seeing Xiang Hao put his life on the line for her, Bao Bao decides not to leave, and sends Mama Chien off while she stays at Long Chen. Putting her life on the line, Bao Bao decides to stay for her relationship with Xiang Hao.

Papa Xiang scolds Xiang Hao for not listening to orders and leaving the academy (and almost getting himself killed) and suggests that Xiang Hao and Bao Bao (well, he means Xiao Han) get married and get the arranged marriage over with. Xiang Hao is ecstatic and breaks down into a cute little dance LOL.

Sidestory update: Dr. Su returns our dear Xie Tian Jiao’s love by taking initiative and delivering a little origami star to her. Their side story is just so cute, I hope they get married by the end of this drama.

THE REAL XIAO HAN IS AWAKE!!! The real Xiao Han wakes up from her coma!

I don’t know why, but Xiao Han gives Ou Yang Fei a fake name – called Liu Luo. Maybe I’m watching a cut-version but I’m really confused on why she didn’t give Ou Yang Fei her real name??? Especially since she just woke up from her coma, there’s no way that she knows anything about the outer world right?

Shen Wen Tao scolds Bao Bao for staying and risking her life. He asks her whether Xiang Hao is worth it, and she says, “Yes” with absolute certainty.

Xiang Hao proposes to Bao Bao in the cutest way with all of his cadet bros (dressed in their super slick uniform) and he says a bunch of romantic things, (blah I love you so much, I want to be with you all the time, I like every part of you, I feel so lucky to have met you). I certainly melted, and so did Bao Bao. This is when the episode ends before… Shen Wen Tao shows up (seriously his timing though).
