RECAP MARATHON, LEGGO!

OK. I thought, I thought I was done with this drama, but I am so wrong. This drama is so repetitive, I didn’t even think that they would drag it on for so long, but they did. But… I am still going to finish my recaps for good measure. I thought this drama would end by episode 20 (because how many freaken times could Gong Min travel back in time to ‘fix things’?!). So, please excuse the decline of quality of the recap for this drama, I’m just finishing it up because at this point I think every episode just runs in full circle.

Chang tells Empress Dowager that ex-Empress Xu’s pregnant, and the child is Gong Min’s!!! Because they cannot fathom that she could be pregnant after one night with the Emperor.

Gong Min’s teacher asks Empress Dowager not to check Empress Xu, and acts very obviously sneaky and like he’s hiding something.

Empress Dowager and the entire Wang family sees this as unusual and pushes them to want to test Empress Xu even more. Empress Dowager was initially hesitant from her embarrassment for falsely accusing Gong Min, but now she’s completely on board.

Wang Meng warned them though – this seems very unusual for Gong Min’s teacher to do something like this to draw attention to himself. This seems like a trap.

The Empress Dowager summoned Empress Xu for testing. To her surprise, Empress Xu wasn’t pregnant. She was pissed because now she looks even more dumb, after falsely accusing two people in a row.

Turns out Gong Min did this sneaky thing of finding a type of Chinese herbal medicine back in the present day to make it seem like she only had one pulse.

Which leads to the question HOW can you just suppress one pulse? Well, let’s pretend I don’t have enough medicinal knowledge, but what the heck happens after? I mean… the ex-Empress Xu is still preggers, and 9 months afterwards, she’s still gonna give birth to a child right? This doesn’t really solve the problem at all.

Empress Dowager bitches out at the Wang family. They push Wang Meng out to blame, because he was the one that revealed Empress Xu’s pregnancy, but he was also the one that warned the Wang family about it being suspicious. Empress Dowager demands that one person to be held responsible for this.

Before they have their Wang family meeting, Gong Min’s teacher goes to approach Chang.

He does this because Gong Min still considers Wang Meng a threat. The teacher goes to tell Chang that Wang Meng has the intention of usurping the throne, which could ruin the Wang family if he fails.

This is revealed during the confrontation, and Wang Meng acts rashly – he pretty much spazzes out and claims that’s there’s nothing wrong with wanting to usurp the throne as long as people in the country are well fed and happy. This is up until the Wang family bring out his mom – pretty much threatening him with his mother.

That’s when he said that he would take full responsibility of the incident, step down, and  will live in exile.

Meanwhile, Gong Min tries to set up one last meeting with Wang Meng before he leaves for the future again (since he’s *done here).

*No he’s not, he returns about 3 more times afterwards, FML.

And Wang Meng decides not to go, but Zi Xiu decides to go, on behalf of the Wang family. He attacks Gong Min, and since he’s on top of him, he’s transported 2000 years into the future.

Which at this point, if I was Zi Xiu, I would be like HOLY SHIT, FUTURE. And I would try to look around and stay there.

But Zi Xiu was too caught up in killing Gong Min to look around or to be shocked, and that’s why he’s the resident assassin of the Wang family and not me.

Xiang Xiang is coincidentally nearby, and she tries to protect Gong Min before he’s about to be attacked, but gets knocked out herself.

Gong Min is furious and pounces on Zi Xiu and screams out that thing on the jade that makes him go back in time.

He returns to deliver Xiang Xiang to a hospital.

He goes back in time to try to kill Wang Meng because he thought that Wang Meng had sent the assassin and had intentionally did it to get revenge. In the end, he’s stopped by Ying Yue, and couldn’t do it anyways because he still considered Wang Meng as his best friend.

He goes back to find Xiang Xiang and she’s gone. She won’t open the door for him because she’s pissed that he left her alone in the hospital.

Wang Meng’s mom witnesses all of this, and her heart is shattered that Gong Min and Wang Meng aren’t friends anymore. She dies shortly after of old age.

Gong Min finds out where Xiang Xiang was, in order to apologize to her and get her to be back with him. It was a pretty cute scene.

She forgave him in the end, but little does she know… he pulls this same shit again.

WE ARE ALMOST DONE THE RECAPS OF THIS DRAMA!!! I just want to finish this off since it’s so repetitive and I’m enjoying this drama less and less.
